Siccas Luthiers - Synthesis Doubletop Cedar

About the luthier

Siccas Luthiers was founded by brothers Mirco and Manuel Sicca, who have dedicated their lives to the art of classical guitars, inspired by their late father Mario Sicca. Mario excelled not only as a soloist, but also as a respected professor at the Stuttgart Musikhochschule, and as a passionate luthier and collector. His deep love for the instrument continues to guide their vision. Rooted in the experience behind Siccas Guitars, a reference for hand-made instruments by the world’s finest luthiers past and present, Mirco and Manuel set out to create guitars that reflect the same high standards of sound, aesthetics, and craft. This vision led to the creation of Siccas Luthiers, a project shaped by unique designs developed in-house by a team of experienced luthiers and players.

About the guitar

The “Synthesis” model by Siccas Luthiers is a double-top concert guitar that seeks to unite modern construction techniques with the tonal ideals of the Spanish tradition. Both the outer and inner layers of the soundboard are cedar, joined by a nomex core, which contributes to its high responsiveness and tonal uniformity. This matched-wood configuration results in a voice that feels organic and connected, with a wide dynamic range and substantial volume that remains centred in a warm, vocal character.

The nitrocellulose finish plays a subtle yet important role in preserving this tonal character. Thinner and more acoustically transparent than modern poly finishes, it reduces damping while still offering adequate protection, supporting the guitar’s resonance and clarity.

The cedar version of the Synthesis model excels in projection and sustain, with a direct, assertive treble line that responds with very little input. Its ease of activation and immediate feedback make it highly playable across a range of dynamic contexts. This is a concert-ready instrument, capable of both refined lyrical phrasing and commanding presence, while maintaining tonal focus and a responsive, fluid articulation.

The photos of this guitar are general product images that may differ from the actual instrument.
